Do You Realize

This has been the most temperate mid-winter weather I've ever experienced here in Vancouver. I guess global warming was not a swindle after all, *sarcastic gasp*. I wonder if people see cruel irony behind this whole "artificial-winter" fiasco. I mean, just think about how much industrial heat they are generating by running commercial freezers since for snow storage and trucking snow from other mountains day after day in order to host the sporting events. I guess I am a little too hard on the Vancouver Olympics. After all, we are making lots of money from this right...right?!

That was the last of my rant about the Olympics, I'm sorry if I offended anyone who's a fan of the event. Here's some outfits for your viewing, you can regard them as tokens for an apology if you'd like.
This dress is totally grunge and comfortable! I still can't believe I'm wearing a dress without a jacket in the middle of February.

Disco Penguin

I'd like to introduce you to my new love -- my 80's looking black and white sweater with golden zig-zag across the chest. This sweater is ridiculously cool and comfortable and I've been completely in awe of its glory since the day I saw it.

I'm off school for the next two weeks because of the Olympics and it's becoming slightly irritating because I now have a higher chance of accidentally seeing or hearing about the stupid spectacle. I'm not unpatriotic, I just think the Vancouver Olympics is completely overrated and sensationalized. Plus I'm not going to look forward to paying it back for the rest of my life. Moreover, I'm really not pleased with the fact that hey decided to artificially create snow and transport them truck by truck up the mountains due to a lack of snow and mild weather. In all honesty, I just wish that it wasn't held here in Vancouver, where snow is scarce and cost of living is high.

black and white horse

Lately, I've been absolutely entranced by the songs of Beach House. Their newest album Teen Dream is a work of pure creative brilliance woven together with dream-like lyricism and melodies...sheer sonic hypnosis! Besides making mad awesome music I am also a big fan of the singer, Victoria Legrand, both of her style and her voice. She's so anti-fashion that she's achieved a new realm of aesthetic known as "nonchalant cool".

This is me failing to achieve that level of coolness, but at least I'm trying...as ironic as that sounds.
