Just Like Honey

We had our first successful show yesterday.

We also had our first band interview on CJSF. We are about halfway through the show, so if you hear shitty John Mayer-esque singing in the beginning, that's not us.

On top of all that, we are recording our first EP, starting next week. Looks like I'll be super famous and rich after all.

Rather Ripped

I'm terribly saddened because I can't for the life of my find my sewing machine foot pedal cord. This means that my plan of making millions by selling home-made dresses on Etsy will have to be postponed until I can find a circuit breaking apparatus that allows me to sew at my own pace.

Two summers ago I became obsessed with sewing. It's one of those additions that offers only hits of ecstasy when you eventually realize that you can save a ton of money by fashioning say a pillow case into a pair of shorts. I guess the sense of accomplishment after you've done that serves to be quite rewarding too. Seriously, just try and create something one of these days; anything. The experience is truly wonderful.

When I open my Etsy shop stocked with boxy, recycled garments made out of textiles found around the house I will be displaying the pieces via my blog. Please keep a keen eye out for that perfect shower curtain dress in the near future.

Sonic Youth fucking rocks btw. Did I mention that already in the past?

Cat Eye Classes

I enjoy certain sensations. I like feeling my fingers digging into bread dough or rice, lentils, beans, pretty much any type of grains. It is a very satisfying tactile emersion. Other than putting my hands in stuff, I also find the sensations involving using a brush to paint on surfaces very appealing. I recently painted my bed and dresser. They are now a uniformed colour of pastel seafoam green with black trims and deco. I like them. Perhaps I will take a picture later to show you how wonderfully minty they are.

I will always be a school girl.

These shoes are old and I always trip wearing them because the tips are unglued.

This brooch is the cat's meow.

Self-Loathing Love Song

Exciting news! Our wannabe band recorded our first live three-song demo today! So now we can finally start working towards establishing a myspace page.
So, I have no idea how this happened. But I have recently went from having little to do, to all of a sudden having potentially four jobs! I think part of it was because I was looking for jobs/opportunities here and there and just ended up with a handful of chunks that eventually added up. So now I am a full-time, unpaid intern at the Canadian Mental Health Association, a free lance staff writer for themodeline.com, a weekend hostess at White Spot and a potential substitute for the Westminster Children's After School Society. You may think that I'm crazy for taking on so much at the same time but I assure you, having a busy life is actually quite exciting to me, until I eventually burn out of course. So even though my responsibilities leave me with little room for a social life, I'm pretty trilled about being productive. Plus with so much to do and a better paying part-time job, I now have more than enough incentive to quit White Spot.

I'm not a huge fan of this photo of me. The shirt looks very bulgy and you can barely tell that I'm wearing shorts rather than a skirt. But I promise this outfit looks a lot better in real life. I was either vibing on my latest professional achievement or reminiscing about going to school when this outfit was put together.
